TRUTH Body Wash (available in Unscented or Citrus)

 This is a great body wash to use as a shaving gel or with a loofah. The blend works well to lather with water and doesn't leave the skin feeling stripped of natural oils like many other body washes may do. Our suggestion is to buy a lot of this body wash, however, because we found ourselves using copious amounts of it in both the shower and as a bubble bath!

Our Review
MIM has always supplied great natural alternatives to traditional styling and hair care products, utilizing vegan, raw, and wild crafted ingredients whenever possible. Depending on your hair type, it may take a few tries to find your perfect products; however, once found, you are sure to be satisfied with the high quality and healthy results. The dragon pomade is the newest in a long line of natural products that deliver on their promises!

For this review, we tested the pomade on dark, curly male hair by simply switching out his regular hair gel for this product for one month. As many of you with dark hair know, most pomades on the market leave a white, waxy residue on the hair. By selecting this particular tester, we were able to confirm that this product does NOT leave any white residue on the hair. In fact, it doesn't make the hair waxy either. It holds the waves and curls in place all day, which still maintaining softness (if you like to run your fingers through your hair), and keeps your hair looking freshly styled all day long. The only downside our tester pointed out what the feeling of oiliness after an entire day of use (12+ hours). Back to the bright side, the neutral scent makes this styling product unisex appropriate.

The Simply Organic Color Care Collection ($86 US) is designed to protect, maintain, and enhance your hair color between services. This set includes moisture shampoo, moisture conditioner, rejuvenating sealer, and color therapy treatment.

The lightweight moisture rich shampoo provides intensive moisturizing while repairing, strengthening, and protecting your delicate lock. Although this shampoo has won awards for it's effectiveness, it didn't mesh well with our testers hair as it was a bit over-hydrating and left the hair oily. It does smell like a citrus dream, but we can only recommend this for severely damaged or dry hair.  EWG rating: 3 (moderate/yellow)

The moisture rich conditioner is designed to instantly detangle hair, while replacing lost oils and increasing shine. This is a VERY moisturizing formula and greatly reduced static charge during dry, windy days. It gives your hair a boost of volume beyond moisturizing and hydration!  EWG rating: 2 (safe/green)

The rejuvenating hair and scalp sealer conditions and prepares the hair to be styled. It has the ability to protect your hair from color fade, replace natural oils, detangle instantly, and balance PH levels. The citrus scent is rejuvenating and refreshing, wholesome and pure. This product was tested by applying to towel-dried hair and adequately prevented and smoothed frizzy ends. We also found that it worked well to protect the hair from heat damage that occurs during styling with a straightener. Overall, our testers were impressed with how effective it was as well as how fresh it kept their hair smelling all day long!  EWG rating: 1 (safe/green)

The color therapy treatment is specially formulated to replenish, revitalize, and extend the life of your hair color. This has been the golden egg of the set! It smells FANTASTIC -- just like you are receiving a fine treatment at a day spa! It was tested on recently colored hair and after one month of use, the color has not faded with use of this product. EWG rating: 2 (safe/green)

Overall, this hair care system works just as good as any professional salon, but without the toxins you'd normally find in other hair care products. If you're looking for a natural alternative for high maintenance hair, this set is sure to satisfy you!

Let me start this review but just saying that I have fallen in LOVE with this product line!! I used the protective leave-in treatment as a replacement to my usual “heat protection” product. I use a round brush every day to style my hair and some products get sticky and don’t leave my hair with the sleek smooth finish I like. Not this line!! My hair styles perfectly, frizz is tamed and it smells FANTASTIC. The clean and fresh scent stays with me all day long! Great find as an “eco-friendly” alternative to your heat protection products.

Since I have naturally wavy hair, it can be a blessing or a curse. If it's too humid or too dry outside, my hair will be frizzy unless I have a leave-in conditioner or gel to hold it down. The problem with many of these products is that it makes my hair "crunchy" - and while I'm completely happy living a "crunchy" lifestyle in just about any other way, my hair needs to be soft, flexible, and touchable since it spends most of the day rubbing up against our baby's precious little face!

Not only have I found that Guardian Aid Gel from Divine Response keeps my locks in place, it also lasts the entire day so I don't have to deal with any touch-ups! This is really nice, because as any mommy knows, the last person who gets taken care of each day is yourself and I just simply don't have time to keep fixing my hair (nor does a ponytail always offer the most attractive style for any occasion). Due to it's delicate scent (very pleasant), I really enjoy using this gel in my hair.

I’m recently engaged and have always viewed myself with long flowing blonde hair on my wedding day. I started using Shea-mu hair Butter every other night. The mornings after I apply the hair butter my hair is so soft and manageable. Also this product not only promotes healthy “hair growth” but the natural fatty acids in shea butter & hemp seed oil add luster to dry, brittle hair!! EXACTLY what I need in ONE product.
I have seen a noticeable difference in the overall health of my hair. As for hair growth I don’t think I’ve been using the product long enough to really see results.
NOTE: It generally takes up to 12 weeks to see a change in hair growth and texture.

We really enjoy using both of these products, though at different times! They are both extremely safe, eco-friendly, and effective. Both companies have amazing customer service and the prices are nearly identical. The true difference lies within your styling needs: do you need a stronger hold or more flexible hairspray? If you a ballerina looking to keep your bun high and tight, we suggest using Divine Response Champion Mist. If you are wanting to spritz your curls to help control frizz on a humid day, but still allow for bounce and movement, we recommend Morrocco Method Volumizer Mist. Although the scents are different, neither one lasts on the hair very long so it isn't really part of the equation unless you really like/dislike one or the other during application. We also like that both bottles can be reused (either is perfect for essential oil blended water spritz because it keeps out light, allowing the oils to stay fresh longer). And if you're a typical person, you'll probably want one of each of these on hand for your many styles (though maybe the smaller size if you only use it occasionally - as natural herbs/oils do not have an extremely long shelf life)!

If you love the lemongrass scent of the Suki exfoliate foaming facial cleanser, you'll be happy to know that their hair care products leave your hair filled with the same scrumptious scent. The shampoo requires more than I would usually need to cover all of my hair (quarter versus dime size), but it leaves your hair squeaky clean with the first shampooing. The conditioner detangles well and requires little effort combing, as long as you warm rinse in the shower.

If the definition of "gone bananas" translates to me smearing bananas all over my head...well then, it's official, I've gone bananas over this product! I knew fruit was good for the body, but even with all of my wholesome research and living, never had the thought crossed my mind that fruit might be good for my hair too. Well, Longhairlovers Luxe brings you the best deep-conditioning treatment that nature ever invented....Banana-Mango Hair Treatment!


While using it, my shower was literally transformed into a tropical paradise, I imagined myself as an Amazonian beauty bathing in a waterfall surrounded by exotic birds! Ok, yes, I have quite the imagination, but hey, you would too if you could smell how delicious this conditioner is! It really made me want to take a bite, it started to look like sorbet...and although I'm sure it wouldn't have hurt me to have tasted just a bit, I had to remind myself that this treat was for my lovely locks!  Caution: Do not condition while hungry!


It left my hair feeling fabulous, my natural waves and curls were restored without frizz, and I was absolutely delighted! I happily headed over to the EWG Skin Deep Database to enter in the ingredients (yes, if you have a product that is not in the database, you can enter it in yourself to receive a safety report). That's when I hit a bit of a speed bump....benzyl alcohol came up with a higher than expected rating. Even though it is one of the last ingredients on the label, and ingredients are listed in their order of concentration (the last ingredient on the list has the smallest amount in the finished product), I contacted the manufacturer to inquire as to why they chose to add this particular ingredient to their product. Here is the response:
"Benzyl alcohol is a preservative, it is a derivative of Benzoin a naturally occurring resin from the Styrax benzoin tree.  It keeps the product from hosting dangerous bacteria. The preservative is certified by Eco Cert, one of the leading international organic and natural certification agencies which guarantees the respect of the environment during the production process, and also enhances renewable natural substances. The percentage is so low in the product it will not affect humans in an adverse way."
After receiving this reply, I felt reassured and am now confident in recommending this product to my friends and family. Although my hair is natural, I have so many friends and family who damage their hair on a constant basis with blow drying, harsh products, coloring, bleaching, straightening, and just basically stripping the hair of it's vitality...I've found this product to be a breath of fresh hair!
